ZunTzu open source?

Post by robocik »

I've started to use ZunTzu and from my point of view this application has big potential. The good thing is that games in ZunTzu don't have any AI logic/scripts - this is just set of images. The advantage of this approach is that is would be quite easly to create ZunTzu clients on other platforms (for example iOS or Android). It would be great if Windows user could play with Android user. Don't you think?:)

What I see is that development of ZunTzu is dead. I understand that author cannot spend his time on this free project. But I think there are many people (including myself) willing to continue developing this great application. Is there a chance to public source code of ZunTzu 1.0 and make this project open source?

This is a WAYYY late reply,

But Jerome has made the ZT program open source!

For any ZT members who are capable in C# programming, please contact me on this forum or perez_r at prodigy dot net

I'll be sending a ZT PM to robocik - - I can only hope he is still watching the ZT forum!

Yes! Jerome decided earlier this year to open source ZT :D

Find the actual program on this site: https://github.com/ZunTzu-Software/ZunTzu :o

Keep in mind that this version does NOT support 'Locked-Graphics.'

Any versions which might be produced from this RAW program are unofficial. PLEASE, send as an unofficial version. Contact any ZT administrator (including Jerome). CC me, on the e-mail! All 'unofficial' versions are still valuable and portions might become OFFICIAL.

Should you wish to join the 'official' team - - just ask!

However, understand that ZT official updates are in development. Official ZT is NOT DEAD! We do need programming help! Just ask!

As of today, 'ZT-official' has a second programmer of C# working on 32k ZT into the 64K world! Want proof? Download the core program at "https://zuntzu.com/files.htm." During portions of 2019, the core program was not working in the 64K environment.

Tell you friends to download the 64K version from https://zuntzu.com/files.htm. It will work!

Any questions? Ask on these forums . . . Regards, Rich
