Folks, can someone give hints on how to reduce the size of jpg files? I tend to err on the side of caution and my image files end up too big for comfort.

Hi Iclaudius,
Try using Irfanview
http://www.irfanview.com to vary the size/quality of your files.
With scanned images .jpegs are usually more economical, but .pngs are often much better with computer generated ones...
Regards, Bill.

80% quality seems to be a nice balance between size and clarity.

I tend to use a quality of 75% to 90% to get significant file size savings on jpegs.
