dice graphics in Vista

Post by steve_lampon »

Hello, I have just installed my own Wavre gamebox and tried to use it in the new v1.2 (I am running Vista), I no longer have any usable dice, they are just two black 'blobs' that roll across the screen!!!
Any ideas?
Many thanks

Thanks for reporting the problem, Steve.
The code for dice has not changed in 1.2. It seems all along there was a bug in ZunTzu that manifests itself only in Vista.

Does the problem occur only after you resize ZunTzu's window?

dice

:), I restarted the gamebox a few times and the dice seem to work now? did you correct something? resizing the window when the dice did not work made no difference, but all seems fine now!
Many thanks :)

Another user reported that the problem is actually triggered by the resizing of the window.

I am experiencing the same problem, and it does seem to be triggered by resizing the windoww.

I am now able to reproduce this problem on my new Vista laptop.
The problem is I have no clue how to solve it at the moment. :-(

Just wanted to mention that I am having the same issue, anytime I resize or minimize the game the dice go black. I am using Vista 64bit Geforce 8600M GT.

I've tested it on Windows 7 beta and the problem of dice doesn't manifest. It manifests only in Vista.
I had to test the audio and the microphone ... in next days i let you know something about ...

Thanks for the info.
The audio problem is a different thing: it's not caused by a bug. Microsoft removed the library I was relying on from Vista. I don't expect them to have put it back in Windows 7.

My computer died recently so I've had to buy a new Laptop (with VISTA installed) and of course I now have the same problem with the dice...

It's a pretty major irritation - Jerome any news on a fix?

On a more upbeat note, I'm amazed at the speed of ZunTzu with 3 Gigs of RAM and a Core Duo Processor! Even the largest gameboxes (WIF, DAK2 and my 300dpi six game France 1940) run with no problems or slowdowns whatsoever - fantastic :D

And another one. Guess all of us Vista users are suffering. Any news on a fix?

Cheers

I can confirm that this bug doesn't manifest itself in Windows 7 :D

As of June 3, 2010, the problem persists.

Otherwise, this is fantastic software. :)
